New For 2025

NEW FOR 2025

The passage of time moves faster than a toddler does the moment you look away. Despite having no new publications, there are plenty of works in progress and we are as busy as ever.

We have handed out over £10,000 in grants and courses for young and new writers over the past twelve months and aim to match that this year.

We have opened submissions for non-fiction works, especially for music, art and literature-based themes, including memoir, biographies and oral histories. You can query using our submissions page. We are also open to submissions for fiction.

Oh, and yes, we do pay advances. We do not ask for a penny from authors or expect them to pay for editing or manufacturing costs upfront. We are not a hybrid publisher. So, if any literary agents want to query with us, please do.

Our Diary of a Young Writer blog has resumed after a brief hiatus with a new contributor, Cameron Stewart, who has been prolific with new posts lately, so feel free to have a look – and maybe try out some literature themed quizzes too.

OK. Short but sweet update, I have a toddler to catch…
